The role of stillness in a cinematic experience.
When a scene moves, our eyes travel with it. If we want to read a paragraph at the same time, two different rhythms meet. On Shibagency’s homepage, we gave those rhythms separate moments.
A pause in the story
Reading pauses are independent of clip durations. When a visitor reaches a scene, the headline, description and links appear. During a transition, the text recedes; the story continues when the next place opens up.
The purpose of a small movement
A line appearing or a surface opening can indicate the next reading area. We look at which information a movement brings forward. Where visual attention should go after a passage has been read is part of that decision too.
A quieter path
A reduced-motion preference lets the experience continue with still frames. Headlines, services and links remain within the same story, keeping a readable version of the visual world available.
